During preparations for this recording I was torn between the availability of knowledge about the works in question and the sensibilities of a performer living in the second decade of the 21st century.
Krzysztof Wołek’s body of work covers a wide spectrum, ranging from purely acoustic and electroacoustic music through improvisations to diverse forms of installations and works verging on multimedia art.
Warsaw Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra celebrated its tenth anniversary with a solemn concert, held on 6th December 2011 in Warsaw Philharmonic Concert Hall.

Preludes and Fugue and Double Concerto, works of maturity, though not yet of old age, are above all music for adults, whose appraisal requires thought, patience and restraint.
The recordings on this CD offer a rare opportunity to get acquainted with both the beginnings of a composer’s growth and the mature works written at the summit of his artistic life.
The clarinettist Wojtek Mrozek's album caught my attention with the feeling of space it creates (something rare in Polish recordings) and with the natural sound of the instruments.
Among others, these were the works to be performed in the outdoor, drawing−rooms and palaces. Such situations had not much in common with an atmosphere of the present day concerts.
Presenting an astonishing richness of composers’s means, of colours and moods, and acquired by virtuoso of violin to their repertoire, they soon became a canon part of them.
