Two masterpieces of violin literature – a concerto by Wieniawski (No. 2) and by Sibelius – are dear to the heart of every lover of this instrument. They can also be a source of true satisfaction for the soloist. They allow him to prove his virtuosity, but also sensitivity, lyricism and a noble tone colour. Lastly, they demand a combination of youthful spontaneity and artistic maturity, a very difficult task. All these qualities are present in the interpretation of the young violinist Patrycja Piekutowska accompanied on her debut album by the National Polish Radio Symphonic Orchestra under Antoni Wit.
