Patrycja Piekutowska
Patrycja Piekutowska was born in 1976. In 1995-2000 she was a student of the Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw, in Professor Tadeusz Gadzina’s class. In 2000 she graduated from the Academy with distinction.She is the winner of the following prizes and distinctions:
- 1st Prize – National Chamber Ensembles Competition, Wrocław, 1991
- 1st Distinction – National Z. Jahnke Violin Competition, Poznań, 1994
- 1st Distinction – International T. Wroński Solo Violin Competition, Warsaw, 1997
- 3rd Prize – International K. Lipiński and H. Wieniawski Young Violinists’ Competition, Lublin, 1997
- 3rd prize – International Chamber Ensembles Competition, Łódź , 1998
In 1993 Patrycja Piekutowska was granted a scholarship to attend the International Music Camp in Interlochen, USA, where she won the Best Recital Competition. Besides, she obtained the Minister of Culture and Art Scholarship. She has been giving solo concerts in Poland and abroad for several years.During her recitals and symphonic concerts in Belgium, France, Germany, Holland and India, as well as the numerous Polish cities, she presents music from the Baroque till the present times. She successfully makes first performances of pieces created by young Polish composers.
From 1994 to 1998 she took part in the Polish Master Violinists’ Festival.In February 1999 she performed as a soloist with the National Symphonic Orchestra of Polish Radio under Antoni Wit. She co-operated with such outstanding conductors as Mirosław J. Błaszczyk, Grzegorz Nowak, Jezry Salwarowski, Andrzej Straszyński, Tadeusz Wojciechowski.
In July 1999 she gave a concert with a symphonic orchestra during the festival of classical music “Musik Sommer” in Schwerin, Germany.
She was granted a scholarship for the master course in Holland: “Holland Music Session” where she mastered her skills attending Professor Herman Krebber’s class in August 1999.
Her first CD was released in December 1998 – it includes compositions by Wieniawski, Paderewski and Lutosławski and was recorded with Maria Szwajger-Kułakowska. In October 2000 she will start her post-graduate course at the Royal Academy of Music in Brussels, in Professor Igor Oistrakh’s class.
