We have made our best of the knowledge and skills that we possess, so that the pictures which first appeared in the mind of the poet, then – the composer, the conductor, and eventually – the choir, could also be reflected in the imagination of the listeners.
Those who are familiar with Kilars music will recognize the characteristic consonances, ostinato repetitions and stationary chords with their seductive harmonies and the tonic underlined with the bass beats of the piano.
The repertoire ranges from the examples of the European Renaissance and early-Baroque "high" style (proving the great talent and technical skills of the then composers from Wrocław) to early dancing music.
Maklakiewicz´s output includes 6 complete cycles of Ordinarium Missae. Two of them - Missa pro defunctis (1932) and Missa de inventione Sanctae Crucis - Missa secunda (1932) - are intended for a male choir and organ.
