The Rezlers are a family of great musical traditions. This album is a homage paid to Arnold Rezler by his daughter (Magdalena Rezler-Niesiołowska) and son-in-law (Maciej Niesiołowski). Arnold Rezler, an outstanding cellist, conductor and educator, died in 2000 at the age of 92. The miniatures selected for the album are charming little pieces performed in the 19th century by great virtuosos as encores or during musical evenings in close circles of friends. Some of them are famous hits (like Wieniawski’s Legend or Chopin’s Nocturne in C Sharp Minor), others almost forgotten miniatures by Polish composers of the turn of the century (Mazurka by Zarzycki, Krakowiak by Statkowski or Burlesque by Andrzejowski).
