The contents of this recording include vocal-instrumental sacred compositions – an extant incomplete Missa Triumphalis (with only two sections of the ordinarium missae – Kyrie and Gloria), settings of six psalms (Dixit Dominus, Laudate pueri, Credidi, Laetatus sum, Nisi Dominus, Lauda Jerusalem Dominum) and a Magnificat canticle – as well as two works intended for small instrumental ensemble (Canzona seconda a due, Canzona seconda a tre). All the vocal-instrumental compositions are set to Latin texts, applicable to liturgies of the Roman Catholic and Lutheran churches. All are composed in concertato style. Finally, all were written by Mielczewski with Roman Catholic church performances in mind and survived in manuscript copies produced within the Lutheran communities.
