Marta Boberska

Having won a scholarship from the Minister of Culture and the President of Warsaw, she studied singing at the Warsaw Academy of Music with Prof. Janina Skalik and graduated with honours in 1995.

As a student she worked in the Polish Music Theatre, singing in The Magic Flute by Mozart and Die Fledermaus by J. Strauss. She was also a soloist in the Orthodox Church Music Ensemble, with which she has toured Europe, South Korea and Japan. Since 1994 she has been a soloist with the Warsaw Chamber Opera.

Her repertoire includes the parts of Carolina in Il Martimonio Segreto by Cimarosa, Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro, Norina in Donizetti’s Don Pasquale, Clorinda in Rossini’s La Cenerentola, Belinda in Dido and Aeneas by Purcell, Faun in Mozart’s Ascanio in Alba, Blonda in Mozart’s Die Entführung aus dem Serail, Zerlina in Mozart’s Don Giovanni, Cephise in Alceste by Lully, and Drusilla in L’Incoronazione di Poppea by Monteverdi.

Marta Boberska has engaments with two Warsaw theatres: the Narodowy (Zosia in Widma (The Phantoms) by St. Moniuszko) and the Wspolczesny (in Master Class by Terrence Mc Nally). She also collaborates with early music ensembles, takes part in oratorio and chamber music concerts. She has made many recordings, also for Polish Radio and Television, as well as for films by A. Wajda and A. Holland.
