Julian Tryczyński

Born in Cracow, Poland. Julian Tryczyński started playing cello at the age 10. He studied at Cracow Academy Music, Moscow Conservatory and Yale University School of Music. During his graduate studies at Yale he served as Teaching Asisstant to Prof. Aldo Parisot. Mr. Tryczyński participated in master classes taught by Janos Starker, Mstislav Rostropovich, and was coached in Chamber Music by the members of Juilliard String Quartet and Tokyo String Quartet.
In 1981 Mr. Tryczyński joined The Vaghy String Quartet with whom he spent 10 years performing in Canada, USA, Great Britain, Austria and Poland. Canadian Broadcasting Corporation often broadcast their concerts. During this time he also served as cello professor at Queen’s University in Kingston, Canada.In 1990 Julian Tryczyński joined the faculty of Shenandoah University in Virginia, USA to become professor of Cello and Chamber Music. While at Shenandoah, he divides his time between teaching and pursuing career as the soloist and chamber musician. Recently the piano trio (Trio Cracovia) in which he is a cellist performed several recitals on tour in the USA and in Iceland.
He is a prize winner at 1974 Danczowski Cello Competition in Poznań, Poland, and 2nd Prize Laureate at 1978 Aldo Parisot International Cello Competition in Brazil.

His solo and chamber performances took him to Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Great Britain, Iceland, Japan and Poland. Besides performing Mr. Tryczyński has given numerous master classes at music schools in the USA, Poland, United Kingdom, Iceland and, most recently, in Japan, including renowned Tokyo College of Music. Mr. Tryczyński tutors several gifted students in his class at Shenandoah University.
