Soboń-Wakarecy

Graduated from the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw in the piano class of Jerzy Romaniuk and Ramiro Sanjines and chamber music class of Krystyna Borucińska and Joanna Maklakiewicz (2010). She developed her skills during postgraduate studies at the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo under the guidance of Einar Henning Smebye (modern piano) and Liv Glaser (historical piano).
Laureate of several international chamber music competitions: in Cracow (2009), Oslo (2012), Białystok (2015), and in Rome (2015). Aleksandra Soboń-Wakarecy received the scholarships of the Mayor of Toruń (2017, 2019) and of the Marshal of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship (2017). As a soloist and a chamber musician, she has performed in Norway, Germany, Spain, Poland, Italy, Lithuania, and Hungary.

She has been performing as a member of the Wakarecy Piano Duo since 2013 together with her husband, Paweł Wakarecy. The artists are laureates of piano duo competitions and the “New face of music” programme of the Polish Institute of Music and Dance.

Aleksandra Soboń-Wakarecy since 2012 has been living in Toruń, where she teaches piano at the Karol Szymanowski Complex of State Music Schools; her students are prizewinners of international and national music competitions. In 2019, she received the prize for distinguished achievements in pedagogical work awarded by the Mayor of Toruń.
