Although many composers value the bassoon’s melodiousness and its ability to create grotesque effects, nevertheless, it does not belong to the group of most popular instruments. Admittedly, Antonio Vivaldi composed about forty bassoon concerti, but it is not these which are recalled when the author of Le quattro stagioni is mentioned. Therefore, this album seems to be even more valuable, fully depicting the baritone-bass character of the bassoon and its spectacular capabilities in all registers of the instrument.
