The music of Panufnik – one of the greatest Polish composers of the 20th century – has returned to concert halls around 1977, when the artist’s name was taken off the government black list. The works on this album are particularly significant in Panufnik’s career. The Sinfonia Sacra, probably his most famous work, marks an important turn in his life. And the Tenth Symphony and the Cello Concerto are his last compositions which crown his rich artistic output.
