It is not without reason that the musical journey of the LEOPOLDINUM bears a title directly referring to Bach’s Kunst der Fuge. The Art of the Fugue is given a wider meaning here, though, as Bach is for the orchestra only a starting point for the presentation of works written (except for Purcell’s music) in a much later period, though drawing on Bach’s fugues in their form.
