Józef Frakstein
Graduate of the Wrocław Academy of Music. Prize winner of the Robert Schumann Competition in Zwickau. Made his debut at Wrocław Opera and since 1984 works at the Warsaw Chamber Opera where he sings leading bass-baritone roles in operas by Mozart and Rossini. He is a guest singer in opera houses in Erfurt, Halle and Leipzig where he also teaches. He has also performed at the Wiener Kammeroper where he sang among others Count Almaviva in Mozart’s Marriage of Figaro and Leporello in his Don Giovanni and has participated several times in the annual ‘Mozart in Schönbrunn’ Festival. He also performs oratorio music, which he has sung in opera houses and concert halls in Austria, France, Germany, Italy, Korea and the USA. He has participated in prestigious music festivals in Warsaw, Wrocław, Paris and Madrid and has to his credit many recordings for Radio and Television both at home and abroad.
