Joonas Ahonen

Versatile Finnish pianist Joonas Ahonen has gained high praise as a soloist of Ligeti’s ?Piano Concerto as well as a Beethoven interpreter on fortepiano. Member of Klangforum Wien since 2011, Ahonen has appeared with a number of renowned orchestras and ensembles such as the Finnish RSO, Tapiola Sinfonietta, Avanti! and Ictus.

Ahonen has performed at the West Cork Chamber Music Festival and at the Davos Festival. As a soloist of Klangforum Wien he has appeared at the Wiener Konzerthaus and Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires with Ligeti’s Piano Concerto, Wien Modern Festival and Elbphilharmonie concert series in Hamburg with Beat Furrer’s Piano Concerto.

Ahonen studied at the Sibelius Academy with Tuija Hakkila and Liisa Pohjola.
